It all begins with an idea

Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

However, I am not one to educate you on how to do any of that. Because I am navigating how to accomplish that myself. That is how red haus was born anyway.

I went to college and learned how to become a visual storyteller. Here I am months after graduation longing to tell a story. I tried to pick up my camera a few times and see if anything sparked, but nothing seemed to be very impactful. Or at least impactful enough. Every good, passionate storyteller will say, the story will find you. Well, I guess every story on the existence of the earth hates me because nothing, and I mean nothing felt important to capture. But that is where I went wrong, you see I was searching for something that did not exist for me. Passion. The realm of stories to be told is unless…that is if you feel passionate about it.

As a twenty-something-year-old (22), I realized a strange thought. If I died today and people were to say “Oh she was so passionate about…” what would they say? My dog? I mean yes of course my dog but to dive a little deeper. What would people think?

My clothes.

Clothes, and fashion, and styling, the whole shebang of it all! That is what truly enlivens me. When my roommates in college would all be getting ready for a night out and they would ask me to help them pick out their outfits, that was music to my ears.

I always wished I was one of those little girls who aspired to be a pilot or vet. Something they put their minds to at a young age and could one day in their 20s satisfy that aspiration. I only figured out sort of what I wanted to do. But it was not until I got to college. Storytelling, but, I always thought it had to be through some sort of art form. Soon I realized that fashion is an art and form of storytelling. Every day you put on an outfit and it means something. You wake up and put on a fresh pair of sweats maybe because you are not feeling your best. Maybe you put on your lucky necklace because you are waiting for good news. Every day you are continuing your story, and it starts with putting on clothes.

Now, you must be thinking, what does all this have to do with red haus?

Well, this is exactly why I created red haus. The fantasy of it all. Styling obtainable wardrobes, fashion icons, dream vacations, modern-day takes on 2000s icons, your favorite TV stars and what brands or pieces they would style, and so forth.

red haus is finally my passionate story most storytellers say finds you.

This creative outlet and blog will allow me to visually share my twists on current-day trends and have updated blog posts not only discussing how emerging into the world of fashion is so divergent and competitive but also life itself. Emerging into the fashion world? How about emerging into life post-grad and the struggles that come along with it that nobody wants to talk about? One thing I have always practiced is transparency. If I can accomplish one thing in this portfolio is that I am transparent about my words… and the looks I curate.

red haus is my digital portfolio, a blog discussing fashion (or not), and your style guide to introduce new brands, old brands, vintage, designer, and more.

And yeah, it all begins with an idea. Of course, my idea is to have a world-famous fashion and lifestyle magazine that one day gets called the next Vogue but I mean… it all starts with an idea right? Ideas can sit in your brain for your whole life, waiting and waiting for you to bring them to life. Even if it is something dumb, or worthless…wait but how would you know if it is dumb or worthless if you simply do not try. Like red haus may be nothing but a portfolio I attach to a job application, but I gave life to it.

Thanks for tagging along with my story (:

Stay tuned for whats to come
